My teacher offers a free Intentional Creativity® class called "Love called my name" and you can access it here until May 1st.
This painting is the result of that class. Every painting that I do is inquiry based and the ladies are revealing themselves to me as I turn within to witness them and the symbols coming through. They all have a specific message and insights to guide me to live a fulfilled and empowered life.
Her message to me: "Be Kind". More precisely, she said: "Be kind to yourself". So here it is for you too:
Be Kind to Yourself!
In order to practice, here are four tips she shared with me:
Remember: you didn't know then what you know today.
How often do you look back on a situation or a relationship and beat yourself up because you could have done or said things differently. You learn and grow (if you choose so) with every experience so what you learned from your past, you didn't know then when you were going through it. Cut yourself some slack and be kind to yourself!
Challenge your negative self-talk, be curious about it. Wonder if it's true what you are saying to yourself. Wonder if there is something else that is true and kind about yourself. Be curious about what part of you this self-talk is originating from and wonder about the need that needs to be met. Honor that need, be kind to yourself!
Get to know yourself
You are unique! What works for someone else, might not work for you and it's ok. There is nothing wrong with you because this type of meditation doesn't work for you. There is nothing wrong with you because some days you love to be around people and some days you just want to stay home by yourself. Stay curious here too. Wonder what you truly love, explore different things, different thoughts. Challenge yourself to try new things (you don't know what you don't know) and be kind to yourself!
Take your colored pencils out, take a pottery class, doodle, take a class with me (I had to mention it!) or learn about how you can use the herbs in a new way in your kitchen. Do some collages, gather with friends, drink wine, eat chocolate and put paint on a canvas together and see where it goes. Creativity is a wonderful way to stimulate your brain in a new way. Explore your creativity and be kind to yourself!
